• The website SOURCECODE claims to be hosting leaked nude photos of the England Lionesses
  • England Lionesses star Steph Houghton recently had 18 fake nude photos leaked of her following the World Cup
  • These incidents are reminiscent of the 2014 celebrity hack known as “The Fappening” that ended with the four men responsible going to prison

After the England Lionesses lost to the USA at the World Cup, things possibly got slightly worse after alleged nude pictures of the team surfaced online. The images are not “hardcore” so to speak but are definitely not safe for work.

The pictures seem to be originating — or at least compiled — on a site called SOURCECODE. The website released the photos under the title, “Breaking: England Women’s football team rocked with leaked nude pictures after FIFA WWC.” The site does not go into detail on how they obtained the images. The little bit of writing before the photos reads “they somehow made mistakes in their dressing room after pictures they took whiles bathing was leaked.”

The pictures include four women in a shower, a few single nudes and then an image of a female performing a sexual act on another female. Some have said the photos are edited while others argue they are real. At this time, the images have not been verified and the Lionesses have not released a statement regarding the alleged picture leak.

England Lionesses Star Steph Houghton Has Fake Nudes Leaked

According to The World News, fake nude photos were “leaked” of England Lionesses star Steph Houghton. In total, 18 images were released to different football forums then spread through WhatsApp. According to TWN, the photos of Houghton were all poorly created with with photo editing.

The Fappening

Real or fake, what is happening to the England Lionesses is a grim reminder of “The Fappening.” In 2014, at least 100 celebrities were hacked by a 4chan user. The release of their stolen nude photos was dubbed The Fappening by the online community in reference to the term defined as “the onomatopoeic representation of masturbation” by Urban Dictionary. Reddit users initially named Bryan Hamade as the man behind the hack. Hamade told BuzzFeed he was not the hacker and only posted the pictures online as a means of making money.

I am not behind this. It was so stupid — I saw a lot of people posting the actual leaks and bitcoin addresses and I’ve read a lot about bitcoin and how they are valuable and I thought, Oh cool I’ll get free bitcoins.

I am just an idiot who tried to pull one over on 4chan and lost big time and stupidly left this identifying information. They took my proof and back traced it — it isn’t remotely true. I am not a hacker. I have no idea how the hell someone could hack into all those accounts.

It turns out Hamade was not lying. In 2016, then 36-year-old Ryan Collins from Pennsylvania took a plea deal for the crime. Collins was married with two children at the time of The Fappening. He studied science and technology at James Madison University in Virginia and was believed to run an E-commerce store. Overall, he seemed to live a pretty quiet life. So how did he end up with stolen nude photos from over 100 celebrities? Pretty easily actually.

Collins used a hacking technique known as “phishing.” Phishing is when you send someone to a link, or deliver an email that mimics a trusted site in hopes they will enter their email and password. In The Fappening, Collins sent celebrities emails claiming to be from Apple or Google. In the emails he requested the celebrities login credentials and got access to their accounts. At times Collins had to use software to download the images from their Apple iCloud accounts. Collins was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to felony hacking and violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

But it turned out Collins did not act alone. In total four men would serve time in jail over The Fappening for similar computer crime charges. George Garofano, 26, was sentenced to eight months in prison and three years of supervised release and 60 hours of community service after he gets out. Garofano was responsible for hacking 250 people, including Kate Upton, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kirsten Dunst. Edward Majerczyk, 28, plead guilty to the same crime as Collins and received nine months in prison. Last but not least, Emilio Herrera, 32, was also sentenced to 16-months in prison for his role in The Fappening. If someone did in fact leak nude pictures Of the England Lionesses they could very well find themselves with some serious criminal charges, especially if they were acquired through any kind of hack.
